A library database is an online searchable collection of information. Libraries pay for subscriptions to databases so students can find quality information on a variety of subjects. Library databases contain scholarly journal articles, newspaper and magazine articles, book reviews, articles from trade publications, dissertations/theses, and more!
Some databases are general and cover all subjects. Academic Search Complete is an example of a general database. Other databases are subject-specific and contain content for a specific field. Science Direct is an example of a subject database.
Using OneSearch will allow you to search all of our physical and electronic content in one place. If you find OneSearch overwhelming, you can individually search the database of your choice.
