Placing items on reserve

Please use the Course Reserves Form to request that books, photocopies of articles, or audiovisual material be placed on reserve for your course.

Allow 3 to 5 days for processing before announcing to your students that the items are available in the library.

Photocopies that will be used in multiple semesters may need copyright clearance.  The library reserves the right to refuse to place on reserve items that do not meet fair use guidelines.

  • For articles that are available in full text from one of the library's databases, inserting a permalink or persistent link into Canvas is sufficient to both provide access and satisfy copyright and fair use constraints.  Permalinks are generally provided within the detailed records in the databases.
  • For articles that must be scanned, it may be necessary to seek copyright clearance. Please contact the library for more information on fair use within electronic reserves.
