Interlibrary Loan

Book FAQs

Is there a charge for requesting books?

Article requests are free.  For physical items (books, dvds, etc.), the library reserves the right to enforce a $3 postage fee and any other charges that may be enforced by the lending library.  Most items are free, but some libraries charge a small amount to lend their items.  The patron will be notified of any charges before the request is processed.

How long can I keep my books?

Due dates will be listed on the materials when you receive them in the mail (or pick them up if you are a local student).  PASCAL books are loaned for 6 weeks, ILL due dates are determined by the lending library, and SWU books may be kept for 1 month from the date of check-out.

Can I renew?

Books from Rickman Library or those obtained through PASCAL may be renewed.  SWU books may be renewed twice for a period of one month each renewal, and PASCAL books may be renewed once for a period of 6 weeks.  To renew SWU or PASCAL books, log into your library account in OneSearch.  Renewals for interlibrary loan books are approved or denied by the lending library.  To request a renewal on an ILL item, contact Joni Addis
