Article FAQs

Is there a charge for requesting articles?

No.  ILL is generally free.  In rare cases where a cost will be incurred, the library may cover a portion of the fee.  However, we reserve the right to deny a request if the item will cost a substantial amount.

How long does it generally take an article to arrive?

Articles are usually available within 1 to 3 days, but please allow up to 5 days.  Some arrive quickly, some take longer--it all depends on where it is coming from and how quickly the lending library responds to the request.  In some instances, article requests can take up to a week, especially if it is an article from a publication that is not easily accessible.

How will my article arrive?

Your article will be delivered in PDF format to the email address provided on the ILL request form.
