Bible Word Studies

Welcome to the Bible word studies research guide.

Using is your gateway into the Theological Dictionary of the New Testament.

Search for your New Testament word using the New American Standard (NAS) version with Strong's Numbers.  Once you have performed your search, browse the result list for your term.

Click on your hyperlinked term.  A pop-up box will appear.  Locate the number next to "TDNT", which stands for the Theological Dictionary of the New Testament.  The first number is the volume, the second is the page.  (For example, 6:453, 876 is volume 6, page 453 in the unabriged/"blue" version, and page 876 in the abriged/"red" version.)  Using this information, locate your term in the appropriate volume of the TDNT.

Use to locate terms in the full (unabridged, "blue", multi-volume) version of the Theological Dictionary of the New Testament (TDNT).
